Semiconductor Equipment Materials - The John P Kummer
group was established in Switzerland in 1975 as a specialist distributor
of equipment for the semiconductor industry. As the company responsible
for the European introduction of Tencor Products, the group grew quickly
and added first a German Office in 1978, followed by French and United
Kingdom branches in 1984 and 1989 respectively. We are dedicated to the needs of the European
Industry. We have been introducing advanced test and metrology tools to
Europe for over twenty years.
In the mid to late
1980s, the group moved into the area of process equipment, backed by a
large service organisation operating from our German office. This policy
has been gradually reversed over the first half of the 1990s and we have
returned to our roots in test, metrology and inspection. This remains
our speciality. To ensure high levels of service support we have developed
a network of relationships with both our principals and dedicated service
companies. This flexible architecture permits us to offer what the customer
really wants.
We have a small team of very experienced administrators who handle all sales and marketing activities. We invest heavily in our business systems and technology to maintain the highest level of reliability in our record keeping and communications.
- Continuity.
As technology changes, we aspire to remain in touch. Our office owner-managers
have been in their respective positions for many years and have the experience
which matters when things are changing fast.
- Investment.
We take seriously our position at the leading edge of We invest heavily
in information technology and telecommunications to permit the use of
the best methods of communication. We also re-invest through our participation
in SEMICON/Europa where we were a founding exhibitor. We maintain product
knowledge through visits to all our principals for regular training. We
also visit many of the important trade shows such as SEMICON/West.
- Our
objective is simple:
we aim to take a product, sometimes at an early stage in its development,
and find customers for it. For more mature products the principle is the
same; we introduce them at the level appropriate in the European Market.
We offer support in marketing, public relations, exhibitions and after
sales.
- Our Responsibility
to Manufacturers. We are responsible members of the European industry. Our relationship
with our customers are defined by the fact that even though our dealings
with a particular supplier may end when a product reaches a certain level
of market penetration, our responsibility to the customer does not. We
never take our customers for granted.
- Reliability.
As the primary point of contact for our customers we must be there when
needed. We do not work at arm's length from our suppliers and customers
as we want to be fully included in the sales process. Our procedures and
organisation, as well as our record-keeping and standard of communication,
reflect this.
